From the moment the session began, students were immersed in engaging discussions about what sustainability really means and reflected on how they personally contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle.
The workshop highlighted good ideas for sustainability hacks that could be incorporated into real-life practices. Students explored themes like food waste and environmental care with hands-on activities that brought learning to life.
A highlight was the Food From Scraps activity and they also got crafty making their own natural air fresheners, learning how to use essential oils and natural materials as sustainable alternatives to commercial products.
And the creativity didn’t stop there—students put their design thinking to the test in a fast-paced textile upcycling competition. Working in teams, they came up with imaginative ideas for giving old textiles a second life, with the top designs voted on by their peers in a fun head-to-head finale.
Throughout the session, students were encouraged to think like “environmentally conscious citizens”. Judging by the energy in the room and the thoughtful reflections shared, they took that message to heart.
